Forty-three is the number almost every guide gives for the Revo Uninstaller language list, and Revo publishes that number nowhere on its own site. I looked for it in the product pages, the version history and the user’s guide. The setting is documented. The count is not.
Where the Revo Uninstaller language setting lives
One dropdown, one dialog:
- Open Revo Uninstaller.
- Open Options from the toolbar button or from the Tools menu.
- On the General tab, find the box labelled Current Language.
- Pick a language and confirm.
The vendor’s own wording for that box is short: a drop down box you use to change the localization of Revo Uninstaller, preset to whichever language you chose during installation. That last clause explains a question people ask twice a year on forums. If the program came up in a language you did not want, it is because the installer asked and something answered for you.
Why the number moves
The version history reads like a ledger of translation work rather than a spec sheet, which is the clue.
| Version | Date | What the changelog says |
|---|---|---|
| 1.20 | 23 Jun 2007 | Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Italian added |
| 1.33 | 21 Aug 2007 | Eleven added at once, from Dutch to Vietnamese |
| 1.85 | 19 Dec 2009 | Armenian, Azerbaijani, Indonesian, Vietnamese Overseas added |
| 2.2.5 | 24 Mar 2021 | Thai and Gujarati added |
| 2.4.2 | 6 Dec 2022 | Georgian added |
| 2.7.0 | 12 May 2026 | Language files updated |
Nearly every release since 2020 carries the same line, “updated language files”, and no release states a running total. Revo’s page on translations explains the mechanism: a language is a file, it lives in the lang subfolder of the installation directory, and swapping one out is a matter of replacing the file. A count of that folder is a fact about your build on the day you counted it, not a property of the product.
That is my judgment on the 43: it was true of somebody’s install once, it got copied forward for a decade, and nobody went back to look. Count your own dropdown. It takes four seconds and it will be right.
What the documentation does not cover
The freeware user’s guide carries a date on its title page: 6 December 2022. The current freeware release is 2.7.0, from 12 May 2026. Four years and roughly a dozen releases separate the two, so treat any screenshot in that PDF as an approximation of what you will see.
The gap that matters here is the language list. The guide documents the dropdown and skips its contents, the version history logs additions without a total, and the translations page is written for the Pro edition and points at the Pro installation path. If you want to know which languages your copy speaks before you install it, Revo does not offer a way to find out.
One more limit worth knowing before you change anything. Changing the interface language changes the interface. It does not change the language of the names of installed programs, the registry keys Revo shows you during a leftover scan, or the Windows dialogs the program hands you off to, since those come from Windows and from the software you are removing.
